Gael Perry – an improvised Miyazaki
december 14 @ 10:00 - 17:00€20 – €80
The human world can be a dark place. Can also be simple and uplifting. Infact, nothing is ever black or white. We go through everyday life looking formoments of magic. What if we switch it, and look for everyday moments in amagical world?
This workshop is about bringing you to a place where nothing is normal. Where everything is normal. Where the weirdest and most magical creaturecan just be a girl, and where the spirit of the forest can just be a boy. A story where magic is real and reality is magic. This poetic, sensitive and place of emotions place is Japanese director Miyazaki’s kingdom. We’ll learn how to build Miyazaki’s stories with heroes who care: about the world, about nature, about the human part of us, about our soul. The best way to understand what it means to be human, is to not be one.

Teacher? Gael Perry
Gael practices improv for almost 10 years in Strasbourg and he is member, co-founder and the director of La Carpe Haute.
Now, he teaches improv every week and loves it! He created many workshops (short or intensive) in French and English, using his experience on stage (national and international) and from the teachers he met (Joe Bill, Patti Styles, Will Luera, Lee White, Anders Fors, Rance Rizzutto, Matthieu Loos, Kaci Beeler, etc.). He travelled in Europe during the past few years (Barcelona, Berlin, Moscow, Athens Brussels, Göteborg, Amsterdam, etc.), performing and teaching, and found a thousand ways to improvise. His dream was to combine it to be a multifaceted cristal of improv! Now, he tries to share around the world that way of acting, kindly and silly, emotive and crazy.
